Soil Atlas
Soil Fertility Atlas of Gujarat – GSFC’s initiative
Soil samples for all the districts of Gujarat were analysed at GSFC Soil testing laboratory at Fertilizernagar, Vadodara Gujarat.
Based on the analysis, study and their compilation, GSFC published ““Soil fertility Atlas of Gujarat-2013”. The “Soil Atlas” was introduced and presented to farmers by Chief Minister-Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi at Vibrant Gujarat Global Agriculture Summit -2013 at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The “Soil Atlas” provides as insight about the types of soils of Gujarat, Availability of various nutrients in the soil, Importance of Macro and Micro nutrients, Emphasis on Balance use of Fertilizers and many more aspects related to soil.
GSFC distributed Soil Atlas to around 95000 farmers, including all members of our Agriculture magazine “Krishijivan”, free of cost so as to make them aware about the soil fertility status of their respective area and prompt them to follow balance use of fertilizers. An initiative by GSFC: towards improvement in Soil Fertility, Soil Health and Agricultural Productivity of the state.
